What do we treat?

At Bray Osteopathy, I treat all types of pain and injury, including:

back pain, neck pain, and sciatica; hip, knee, foot and ankle pain; hand, wrist, shoulder, and elbow pain; headaches and TMD (jaw pain); tennis and golfer’s elbow ; postural problems due to pregnancy*, sports injury, repetitive strain injuries from work and neuralgia.

Osteopathic techniques are used to treat patients, and I offer dry needling and massage as part of these treatments, if required.

*if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant, please let me know

What to expect from a treatment

Treatment times usually last an hour.

Initially, I will take some details from you to get a rounded picture of any underlying symptoms, conditions or previous injuries which may have an impact on your care.

Osteopathic treatment can include manipulation of the spine and limbs, and this can include “cracking” which is a release of gas from the joints- not cracking the bones! Only exercises and manipulations that you are comfortable with will be performed.

Generally, I would advise wearing comfortable clothing; a pair of sports shorts might be useful, as it can be difficult to articulate joints in heavy clothing.

What about afterwards? Osteopathy is a holistic treatment of pain. It may be that you feel some instant relief, however, it can take up to 72 hours before the full benefits are felt.

How much does an osteopathic treatment cost?

One hour osteopathic treatment: €100

I can offer a discount to those who are on a low wage, unemployed or state pension.
